Disaster Services for Fiscal Year 2006
- Responded to 55 separate disaster incidents, 34 in Weber, 14 in North Davis, 5 in Morgan and 2 in Box Elder counties.
- Provided immediate, emergency relief to 282 disaster clients, 105 of them children.
- Responded to 37 single-family fires, 12 multi-family fires, 1 structure fire, 2 floods, 2 search and rescues and 1 wildfire.
- Certified over 263 volunteer in comprehensive disaster relief training.
- Participated in city and county emergency preparedness drills and mock disasters.
- Deployed 36 disaster volunteers to 66 national disaster assignments including the relief efforts associated with Hurricane Katrina, Rita and Wilma.
- Directly assisted 72 Families that evacuated to Northern Utah after Hurricane Katrina destroyed there home and community.
- Directed over $280,000 raised from the Northern Utah community for National disaster relief efforts including Hurricane Katrina, and Rita.
- Raised $95,000 from the Northern Utah community for local disaster relief efforts.
- Presented disaster preparedness information to over 11,000 individuals through community fairs, and preparedness presentations.
- Distributed over 1,100 Disaster Preparedness brochures throughout Box Elder, Davis, Morgan and Weber Counties.
