The American Red Cross of Northern Utah Disaster Services program needs your help. We are hosting a “Dining for Disaster” fundraiser to help raise money to support LOCAL disaster relief. The Northern Utah Chapter provides services to North Davis, Weber, Morgan and Box Elder Counties. On average our Chapter responds to one disaster per week. Money raised will support efforts to meet the needs of emergency food, shelter, clothing, medical and mental health care. All services that the American Red Cross provides is free and made possible due to the generosity of people in our community.
In fiscal year 2007, the Chapter responded to 46 local disasters, providing over 685 individuals with emergency food, shelter and supplies. Of these incidents, 96% were fire-related. In addition, the Chapter works with many local community groups and organizations, enabling us to educate nearly 13,800 yearly in disaster preparedness.
The American Red Cross is committed to “neighbors helping neighbors”. The local Chapter works continuously to be ready to respond to local emergencies whenever called upon, providing compassionate care that is timely and appropriate. It is because of the trust and resolve of the Northern Utah community that we remain the primary humanitarian disaster relief organization, and will be there before, during and after to help those who face the worst of times.
